This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Pasa a ser el mejor hasta el momento。 El final de la batalla de Doldrey, el intento de envenenamiento a Griffith y la partida de Guts con ese duelo final, esto es demasiado épico aunque tenga una parte significativa de trama lenta de Corte, me ha tenido enganchado a las hojas a pesar de tener más texto, pero es que vaya diálogos。 Nota: 9/10

Awesome。This was probably the volume with less violence so far and still it was amazing。 A lot of story and development, Griffith gets closer and closer to his dream but not everybody is happy。 I love when mangakas are able to fill their volumes with so much story and make it look like it's not much。 It flows perfectly, even here where most of the time is spend with talking and scheming。Guts keeps developing as a character and i love him, i love how much he grew since this arc started。 Casca bes Awesome。This was probably the volume with less violence so far and still it was amazing。 A lot of story and development, Griffith gets closer and closer to his dream but not everybody is happy。 I love when mangakas are able to fill their volumes with so much story and make it look like it's not much。 It flows perfectly, even here where most of the time is spend with talking and scheming。Guts keeps developing as a character and i love him, i love how much he grew since this arc started。 Casca best girl, another character tha grew and changed so much since we meet her and the funny thing is that she doesn't even realize。 Volume 8 showed more of her and that's always a plus。Overall: That ending man!!!!!! JESUS!!!! Incredible volume, juts like the previous 7。 。。。more

Oh god this has to be my favorite volume yet。 There’s a lot more character work and intrigue here, and this is where I finally fell completely into the 5/5 camp, because I’m loving it。 Literal goosebumps while reading the ending。

Hmm。。。。 Guts finally realizes his own individuality and doesn't want to be a piece of Griffith's dream。 Guts wishes to be his equal, a friend。 I wonder what defeated Griffith at the end。 Was it Guts' sword or his own ego crumbling? In the wake of Kentaro Miura’s death at the beginning of this month, I’ve taken some time to really stop and appreciate all of the detail in Berserk。 The stunning artwork pulled me into the manga at the beginning, but after watching the ‘97 anime, I really got the gist of the golden age arc and was excited to see what’s next。 I found myself almost speeding through these exquisite panels just because I knew what was happening and what would happen。 It wasn’t until halfway through this volume that In the wake of Kentaro Miura’s death at the beginning of this month, I’ve taken some time to really stop and appreciate all of the detail in Berserk。 The stunning artwork pulled me into the manga at the beginning, but after watching the ‘97 anime, I really got the gist of the golden age arc and was excited to see what’s next。 I found myself almost speeding through these exquisite panels just because I knew what was happening and what would happen。 It wasn’t until halfway through this volume that I realized my error and slowed down to enjoy what was put before me。 While those feelings I mentioned about the Golden Age Arc still remain true, Miura’s untimely passing has hit me a lot harder than I’d expected and I’m not in nearly as much of a rush to get caught up on a series that will now never see an ending。 Everyone joked that they’ll die before Berserk is ever finished, but now the laughs are gone and it’s just pain。 Cherish what you love, you never know how long you’ll have it before it’s gone。 On a different note, I think we should remove Shakespeare from the modern education system and replace it with Berserk, because this manga has just as compelling human drama with infinitely cooler plot structure and epic sword fights。 You can’t flip through one of these volumes and tell me that they’re not dripping with subtext and incredibly rich characters。 Just my two cents。 。。。more

What a note to end on。 I can't help but think of the way in which "Morning of Departure" mirrors Shane (1958), with Casca calling out after Guts and him refusing to look back。Beyond the exciting showdown at the beginning of the volume, political intrigue later on, and extremely satisfying character development payoffs, this volume also continues to elaborate Griffith's point, which is in turn (for now) Mirua's point, the court and the battlefield are no different and the plotting and planning of What a note to end on。 I can't help but think of the way in which "Morning of Departure" mirrors Shane (1958), with Casca calling out after Guts and him refusing to look back。Beyond the exciting showdown at the beginning of the volume, political intrigue later on, and extremely satisfying character development payoffs, this volume also continues to elaborate Griffith's point, which is in turn (for now) Mirua's point, the court and the battlefield are no different and the plotting and planning of nobles should imperil them the same way soldiers on the battlefield are imperiled。While we are asked to consider the place of the soldier in the world of peace by Judeau's comments to Guts, the promise of the world Griffith might create would make that place more clear。 But, it seems like the apocalyptic future to which we are headed suggests such a world may not be desirable after all。 The world in which Guts can find camaraderie, friendship, and family is an uncompromising and brutal one。 "I can't do anything but swing my sword。" 。。。more

(Zero spoiler review)This series makes me feel like such a nit picking killjoy。 I mean, you have some of the most ball shrivelling art you will ever see。 Gratuitous violence, demons as well as a bit of sexy time now and then, and yet, all I can think about whilst reading this series is rewriting it。 About taking the imperfections with the Japanese method of storytelling and turn this very good yet flawed series into quite frankly, one of the greatest literary creations within the medium。 No, I'm (Zero spoiler review)This series makes me feel like such a nit picking killjoy。 I mean, you have some of the most ball shrivelling art you will ever see。 Gratuitous violence, demons as well as a bit of sexy time now and then, and yet, all I can think about whilst reading this series is rewriting it。 About taking the imperfections with the Japanese method of storytelling and turn this very good yet flawed series into quite frankly, one of the greatest literary creations within the medium。 No, I'm not overly arrogant or self absorbed, I just can't, as much as I try, resolve the issues I have with the manga stereotypes that even the great Kentaro Mura doesn't seem immune。 In fact, they rear their head more here than I recall them doing in volume 2。 The unnecessary comedic interference, to the detriment of the moment。 Panel after panel of nothing but empty speech bubbles, individual words, or 。。。。。。。。。 We also have a book overloaded with battle scenes。 Don't get me wrong, they look amazing for the most part, but the book truly shines during the small moments in between the big set pieces, when the plot is dragged forward, kicking and screaming。 When characters interact。 When scheming and deception reign。 The final arc of this series is by far the best in this regard。 We get quite a few little twists and small character moments, which made the previous two issues of battle weary exploits a little more worth it, but I'm still left wanting more from this mostly amazing series。 In the end, the issue of me perhaps not 'getting' with manga as much as I would like is for me to deal with。 You can't keep bating a dead horse and expect it to spring back to life or turn into a unicorn。 Berserk is wonderful in so many ways, although narratively, It frequently leaves me wanting。 4/5OmniBen。 。。。more

This might be my favourite volume。 I don't know。 I change often。 Such brilliant storytelling。 Berserk is not perfect。 At times it is downright stupid (Speaking of Puck and Isidro。 God, I want them to burn in fire)。 But when it's at its best, it is truly a work of art。 This volume is so, so sad。 (And also so, so gay。 Like, whoa。 Veeeeery gay。 It gets me every damn time。)So much symbolism and foreshadowing is woven into the narrative here。 It's amazing stuff。 This might be my favourite volume。 I don't know。 I change often。 Such brilliant storytelling。 Berserk is not perfect。 At times it is downright stupid (Speaking of Puck and Isidro。 God, I want them to burn in fire)。 But when it's at its best, it is truly a work of art。 This volume is so, so sad。 (And also so, so gay。 Like, whoa。 Veeeeery gay。 It gets me every damn time。)So much symbolism and foreshadowing is woven into the narrative here。 It's amazing stuff。 。。。more

Alrighty, so this marks the end of the first chunk。 There is so much that's whirring in my head, but I have no idea how to translate it into words。 First off, is that I have so many questions for the person who recommended this to me。 Genuinely, I have never seen so much gore, rape, and murder packed into a couple hundred pages。 Miura really outdid himself。 Gore aside, this series is really well-developed。 There is so much underlying each character I don't even know which to dissect first。 I gen Alrighty, so this marks the end of the first chunk。 There is so much that's whirring in my head, but I have no idea how to translate it into words。 First off, is that I have so many questions for the person who recommended this to me。 Genuinely, I have never seen so much gore, rape, and murder packed into a couple hundred pages。 Miura really outdid himself。 Gore aside, this series is really well-developed。 There is so much underlying each character I don't even know which to dissect first。 I genuinely first shipped Griffin and Guts, but I take that ship back。 Griffin is lowkey an ass in my books, and Guts does not need that kinda bullshit。 However, the actual ship in the books is really cute, and I genuinely do ship those two (although I have a bad feeling I shouldn't get totally invested, something feels like it's going to go south pretty quick)。 But as far as characters go, Guts is a very interesting one。 I'm not really sure how Miura transitioned from the present to the past (a couple of books ago), but I can't help but wonder how much worse it's going to get for the man so that we can get to the present storyline。 Especially for him to have changed so much。 I'll admit, thematically the book seemed a little juvenile at the start, with the way Puck was spelling out the 'darkness' in Guts in a somewhat child-like manner。 However, I think the idea of dreams (and purpose) that Miura has woven into the next couple of books was really interesting。 I'll admit I've been zooming through this series so I'm a little less versed on what messages Miura might have been trying to weave into the story。 The art, on the other hand, is not my cup of tea。 There's something that's very rough about it。 However, I think that it works very well for this story。 Miura does not skimp on the gore and the details to make the scenery and its characters viler in appearance。 Plot-wise, I am sold。 I literally don't want to finish any of my work, because that is how hooked I am at this point。 If anything, I'm worried, because I can feel the wind going colder and it feels like the plot is about to go real sad south soon。 (especially if the first two novels were any indication of the present)。 。。。more

WHAT A VOLUME! It starts off with the battle of Doldrey and there is this great moment where Guts defeats Lord Boscogn and also now that they have won, Griffith is awarded the title of Knight and the band of hawk become nobility, as such there are ministers who conspire to kill him and they almost do until he somehow is able to dodge them all through his wits and takes down his enemies and when that happens and who dies is mind blowing and a massive twist and then there is the moment where Guts WHAT A VOLUME! Dang。 This was emotional。 We got to see Griffith's inner thoughts and his desire for Gatts to stay。 Though even if the dialogues weren't there, Miura's illustrations explained everything。 Also, Corkus's speech was unexpectedly clever。 Dang。 Dang。 This was emotional。 We got to see Griffith's inner thoughts and his desire for Gatts to stay。 Though even if the dialogues weren't there, Miura's illustrations explained everything。 Also, Corkus's speech was unexpectedly clever。 Dang。 。。。more
